Octanium Receives the Spirit of FIVA Award from EMSO

Octanium Experiences LLC has received the coveted Spirit of FIVA award from the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA), the worldwide organization that works towards the protection, preservation and promotion of historic motor vehicles across the globe.

The award was presented to CEO and Founder Martin Halder by His Excellency, Dr Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of the Automobile & Touring Club of the UAE, FIA Vice-President for Sport, and Chairman of the Arab Council of Touring and Automobile Clubs (ACTAC) at the headquarters of the Emirates Motorsport Organization (EMSO) in Dubai.

This distinguished award recognizes Octanium’s contributions to the world of classic motoring, including the upcoming 1000 Miglia Experience UAE Jubilee Edition – the first time the 1000 Miglia has been held outside of its spiritual home in Brescia, Italy. This inaugural event will boast a stunning lineup of 100 classic cars from around the world, on a glittering regularity rally crossing all seven Emirates of the UAE over five challenging days.

Since its inception in 1965, EMSO has played a leading role in the development of motorsport on both the national and international level. Today, it governs approximately 140 competitive events forming the UAE motorsport calendar, and covering disciplines such as circuit racing, rallying, drag racing and motocross.

EMSO is the country’s sole representative of the FIA, automobile sport’s world governing body, and its motorcycling and karting equivalents, the FIM and CIK respectively. Its primary responsibilities are to promote the safe and sustainable growth of motorsport in the UAE, and to ensure all events are run fairly and to regulation.

The organization is also a member of FIVA, the international body for classic vehicles, and the IRU, the International Road Transport Union. The EMSO is accredited by the UAE National Olympic Committee.
